ProNav™ Marine is pleased to announce that Cabela’s®, a world-renowned retailer of quality fishing, hunting, boating, shooting, and recreational outdoor gear, is now offering the ProNav Angler! The product will be available online and in stores in the marine electronics, trolling motors, and boating departments. New ProNav Angler units will begin to ship around the beginning of March. This product can be found in 64 retail locations, including most large format Cabela’s stores.
ProNav Marine’s revolutionary new ProNav Angler is a GPS-guided autopilot system for your bow-mount trolling motor. It uses a smartphone or tablet to control your boat’s every move so that you don’t have to, allowing anglers and hunters to focus on their sport, rather than keeping their boats on course.
The ProNav Angler is a compact device that easily connects to the shaft of your trolling motor. It is compatible with PowerDrive V2 motors without factory-installed i-Pilot. Aftermarket iPilots must be removed to be compatible. It is also compatible with PowerDrive’s V1s with an upgrade to a PowerDrive V2 control board. In addition, ProNav Angler works with the Riptide SP motor.
With the ProNav Angler, you can use satellite imagery and lake maps to help create and record personalized fishing and trolling routes, both on and off the water. The free ProNav Angler Mobile app, available on Google Play Store and iTunes, uses automatic cloud backup to mark and store unlimited waypoints and fishing routes. All this information is easy to share with other ProNav owners via the mobile app. Map data can also be cached on your mobile device before hitting the water to ensure seamless off-the-grid operation.
The Angler makes it easy to fight fish, using the GPS Anchor feature to keep your motor locked onto a specific GPS coordinate. Vector mode can be used to keep your boat following a straight line by correcting driftage caused by wind, waves, or current, while also maintaining speed and direction. Serious boaters understand the importance of high-quality cartography, which is why ProNav has partnered with Navionics, a worldwide marine mapping leader. Use Navionics to view underwater contours and structures on your favorite lakes before exporting the saved routes and waypoints to the ProNav Angler mobile app to control your motor.
The Angler is a standalone unit; no sonar or chart plotter is required to achieve total boat control. The product will be available in stores this Spring or at several regional tradeshows. See our dealers!
